What is Alto?

Alto is a platform that helps families find professional caregivers like you.

Why would I join Alto instead of a care home, home care agency, or other place of employment?

  • Pay. On Alto, caregivers can choose their own hourly rate so you can get paid more. We take 15% off your hourly rate, so if you want to get paid $21 per hour, set it to $24.15. If you don’t work, you don’t have to pay anything.

  • Flexibility. Control your own schedule and don’t worry about asking for time off. Log in and change your schedule at any time.

  • Choice. After reading your bio, looking at your schedule and your hourly rate, clients will send you a booking request. The booking request will outline their care needs, the address, and other important information. You can make an informed decision on whether you feel comfortable taking on the job.

How do I get clients?

Clients will come to Alto from a referral or advertisement we did and then choose a caregiver that suits their needs. We believe that allowing clients to choose their caregiver facilitates a better, longer lasting relationship.

Can I work part-time on Alto while I have a job somewhere else?

Yes! Alto is great for picking up part time hours. Because you can control and adjust your schedule, you can easily mark yourself as unavailable while you’re working your other job.

How do I start?

  1. Sign up and create a Caregiver profile. It’s completely free and only takes a few minutes.

  2. Fill out a short bio, upload a photo of yourself, select which services you want to provide (Senior Care, Child Care, Special Needs Care, Housekeeping, Yard Work) and your hourly rate.

  3. Complete the Vetting Process. Submit a piece of Photo ID, a Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector (no older than 3 months) and your CPR & First Aid.

  4. Set your schedule and set up direct deposit. If you don’t do this, you won’t be able to receive bookings or get paid for them.

That’s it. Clients will come onto the platform and book caregivers they believe fit their needs.
