What you’ll need

Criminal Record Check

CPR/First-Aid Certification

Photo Identification

Safety matters. That’s why we only work with caregivers who pass our rigorous vetting process, which includes criminal record checks with the vulnerable sector, CPR/First-Aid or equivalent training, and government-issued photo identification.

How it works

You'll start by creating your account. Pick a profile photo and write a short summary about yourself to introduce yourselves to potential clients. You'll also set up the details of your work here such as direct deposit and availability.

Create your account

Next, you’ll submit your documents for review. If everything checks out and your documents pass the requirements, you'll be vetted on the platform and ready to start providing care.

Submit your Vetting Process

Our Care Coordinators help caregivers find work. If they think you'll be a good fit for a client, they’ll reach out to you with an opportunity. They'll ask about your experience and skills as well as your preferences.

Let’s chat

Our Care Coordinators will pass along your profile to their clients and if they're interested, they'll book you for a Meet & Greet. You'll get paid to meet the client to see if you're a good fit for their family.

Meet & Greet

If everything goes well during the Meet & Greet, you'll be booked again by the client. You’ll have found consistent, long-term work but that doesn’t mean you won’t also get booked by other clients, so make sure to stay updated on your notifications

To learn more, read about our Vetting Process here.

  • All payment occurs through our platform with the help of Stripe, a secure third party payment processor. Careseekers will pay via credit card and caregivers will receive payment via direct deposit.

  • If you already work somewhere else, or you’re in school, alto is a great way to supplement your income. You can accept as many booking requests as you feel comfortable with. However, because we let clients take control of their care, alto cannot guarantee any hours.
