What Should I Include in a Care Profile?

Having a comprehensive Care Profile can make a big difference in the care you receive. When done correctly, care profiles can help you get better caregiver matches.

A Care Profile is the first point of contact for caregivers. It tells them who they will be caring for and what kind of care they need. Providing detailed information will help them meet your expectations.

When it’s time to write a care profile, think about the person they will be caring for.

First, consider their care needs. This is most important. What needs to get done? Some questions to ask yourself include:

  • Do they need someone to help prepare meals? If so, what kind of food do they enjoy? What do they dislike?

  • Do they need help with housekeeping? If so, are cleaning supplies provided at the home?

  • Do they need help with personal hygiene, like bathing?

  • Do they need assistance with medication?

It can also be helpful to think of their needs in terms of their routines.

  • What does a typical morning routine look like?

  • What does a typical evening routine look like?

Then, make note of any activities they’ll need assistance with.

Second, consider their personality. This can help the caregiver find things in common which can help build a meaningful relationship.

  • Do they have any hobbies?

  • What’s their personality like? Are they chatty or more of a silent type?

  • What are some of their favourite things?

Remember, you don’t have to include everything. If you need to provide additional information, you can do so by messaging your caregiver or talking to them at the booking.
