What to Expect at Your First Booking

Your booking request has been accepted by the caregiver. Now what?

Once your booking request has been accepted, it’s a good idea to reach out and message the caregiver if you haven’t already. Introduce yourself and tell them any information they may need to know before they arrive.

For example,

  • Where should they park?

  • If you live in an apartment, will they need to be buzzed in? Is there a front desk they will need to check in with?

  • Would you prefer them to wear a mask?

If you’re booking care for someone that lives separately from you, such as a parent, we strongly encourage that you meet the caregiver at the location they will be providing care. This way, you can get to know them in person and make sure they have everything they need to meet your expectations.

For example,

  • If you want them to clean, point out some things you’d like to be done and show them where the cleaning supplies are.

  • If you want them to meal prep, show them around the kitchen.

  • Most importantly, show them where the First Aid supplies and important medications are.

  • If you won’t be there when the booking is over, let them know if they need to, and how to, lock the door on their way out.

After you’ve showed the caregiver around and they’ve become familiar with the home, you can trust them to provide the care they need.

If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to reach out. We’re here to help.
